About Us

Blue Room Roasters is located in the quaint coastal town of Buxton, North Carolina.  In 2023, Stephen and Ashley King decided to spread their love for fresh coffee with the community they call home and began roasting specialty coffee beans locally on the island. As two exhausted parents, we rely on good coffee to start our day, and we believe that there's no better way to enjoy the sunrise over the Atlantic than with a steaming hot cup of Blue Room Roasters coffee!

The roastery is located in the same spot where, back in the day, Calvin Burrus and friends would gather for music, dancing, and a good party at "The Blue Room." The stories we’ve been told include using the old lift as a stage, fish boxes and crates for tables and stools, and pushing the tools and parts to the sides of the room to create a dance floor. One can only imagine the fun had by all who were there to have a good time!

At Blue Room Roasters, we hope to continue the sense of community that Calvin started many moons ago. We aspire to achieve this by sharing our love for coffee with our friends, family, and all those who visit our beautiful island.
